I Can't Go Anywhere!

My parents won't let me go out! When I say go out I mean shopping or to the movies or anywhere! Like, I ask to go to Westfield shopping with friends and they say no and when I push them they say because "it's too dangerous, with you girls on your own" I'm 16!

I basically have no freedom. I haven't done anything to lose their trust or anything wrong; I'm a good kid with good grades and I don't give them any crap, anytime.

So, can you find any reasoning behind not being able to go out?

I mean its not like I'm going out and being naughty. All I want is a bit of fun, lol.

Btw, my parents aren't Asian. We're Aussies, but not bogans.

HELP!!! What should I do??

I can't go shopping, or walk around with my friends, I can't go to the movies or ANYWHERE!

I'm basically with my parents (when I go out) 24/7. It's frustrating.

get your parents to meet your friends so they can build some trust there and you can go out with your friends without your parents worrying

From what I know of bogan parents, they're the most lenient.

Dw my parents are strict too in some ways. But too make it worse some kids went and told my Mum I'd been getting high and going around with a bunch of guys. Wasn't that great... now I can hardly get out of the house.

Your parents are just looking out for you. By the sounds of it, they trust you, just not everyone else lol. Maybe they'll lay off when you turn seventeen... if not, well that sucks lol.

Sounds like they are over-protective, which is good! to an extent. They just wanna protect you. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do until you're at least 16...
have you tried negotiating with them?

Yeah, I mean, I live in Sydney and it is obviously a much bigger city and less safe than towns around the coast or anything. I guess that might equate to not being able to go out. Other than that, I can go to friends' parties (16th's, Halloween, Christmas etc) as long as my parents talk to their parents first.

Its just being out with friends that bothers them. I can see why but still...it sucks.
Yeah, I know they'll lay off when I turn seventeen because I'll have my P's and then well...I can find my own way around and (hopefully) won't be stopping me, lol. I wish.

Hahaha. No, no. I should've been more clear. They'll let me sleep at a friend's place with about 10 people there, both boys and girls. Usually that's the kind of party, we call it party even though its more of sleepover where we all just watch movies, play pool, etc etc. We end up going to bed around 2am and my parents aren't worried about that.

I guess its because they know I'm at a friend's house and they trust me and know that I'm not a bogan. But its what's "out there" that kinda gets them, I think.

So, once again, I do not know what to do.

Oh yeah that's safe nobody would do anything in front of ten people sober.

Okay... well ask to do things in the day, I'm sure they'd be more understanding if it wasn't at night. And ask to go out with your friends close to home. I'm sure you live near fun things lol. And cook them dinner to butter them up or clean or something like that lol.

I live in the country so I usually have no problems getting out lol.
