okay, here's how it works, if a part time employee of certain age earns X dollars per hour (for me it's $14.625 or some such ph, i'm 20)

if you are casual you earn 2.7 times X per hour on a public holiday
if you are part time you earn 2.5 times X per hour on a public holiday

dont worry bro, Woolies pays on public holidays, calm urself

Frontin, you could also look up your award/collective agreement if you're interested in when you do/don't get paid, and what's (officially) expected of you by your employers.

(Also, just for future educative value, if you've ever got a question (ie you think a manager's trying to screw you/asks something you don't think reasonable/etc) you can always call the office of the employment advocate and they'll help you out (or tell you who to talk to).)

I believe while you're on a probationary period, you get decreased pay. So yes it generally should increase after it (but woolworths may be a special case, so dont' take my word for it).

Quick google search reveals:
1) http://www.industrialrelations.nsw.gov.au/awards/index.html for state awards
2) http://www.wagenet.gov.au/WageNet/t...eets/DataFiles/General/AwardSummaryIndex.html - Federal awards. Note that for NSW, there's a woolworths award (Click here), but it's currently under review.

...so those links mightn't be able to help you, but a google search such as "australia" + "federal" + "woolworths" + "award" might turn something up.
