okie dokie then...

I'm finishing the HSC and haven't ever had a job before...

I wouldn't mind working at cole or woolworths coz I would love to get some money...

Anyway, what I'm asking is that don't have posters going "position available" so when u guys say u got jobs at woolies and coles, how do u actually u know, apply? and what do u need? do u need a resume or anything?

oh one more thing, if u do get elected to a position in coles or woolies, do u have a choice to what to do? I really don't wanna be a check-out-chick it'll be too much pressure!

anyway, please someone tell me! I would love to get a job, but don't have a clue or what I need to do!

steps? :)

thats interesting
go to job search sites like

www.mycareer.com.au
seek.com.au

and search there..apply etc.

for coles and crap, just shove your resume (yes you need a resume) at them. ask if theres any positions available etc.. just yeah go up to them.
and then you can ask them what they do and all your other questions :)

so u mean I should ask whether they have a position first then chuck my resume to them?! what if I have nothing to put for my resume? like haven't had a job before just school school school?!?

oh I'm so worried I'm not gonna get a job, I'm very shy

p.s. who do u go to at the store?

yes precisely. you have a better chance, however, if you hand them in before hiring times, i.e. before the exams. if you act quickly you might be able to catch in on some last minute hiring...
what i found helpful was rather than just naming what you've done at school, outa school etc, give a brief explanation of what it involved. (always avoid 1st person, very brief descriptions are better e.g. cleaning, exchange of money, etc rather than i did such n such ). they don't want a story but jsut to know that you're commited, active, blah blah you can even add "punctual, quick learner" etc in your "skills" section of your resume.
on of the most important things is to eliminate ALL spelling mistakes. there's nothing worse than showing that you're almost illiterate. keep your writing starting as closely to the left side (cos ppl read from left to right and it;s easier to erad. any more questions, just ask :) GOOD LUCK!!!
