...
All full-time employees work in the New York office.
All employees in the New York office are part-time.
All employees in the New York office work full-time.
Some employees in the New York office work part-time.
No full-time employees work in any office except the New York office.

Just use a bit of logic using the information given only and don't jump to conclusions. You should also be able to rule out statements that are definitely false.

See, idk. 'All' is quite excessive. You would think in an office there are different patterns of work, ie. casual as well.

Idk, I hate questions like these.

Re: Confessions

Too be honest, that question is BS because it doesn't establish whether an employee can only be full-time or part-time. That is something you have to assume from information not stated in the question.

Idk

It seems like the most sensible one really.

*DO NOT ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS BASED ON REAL LIFE KNOWLEDGE OR "COMMON SENSE". So common sense goes out the window and we only use the data given.

Hence why the question is BS. First, the question requires you to use "real world" knowledge to assume that an employee can be either part-time or full-time. Secondly, that assumption isnt even true because in the "real world" you have casual staff who are distinct from PT and FT.

Which option would you put?

A or C or E

Re: Confessions

The answer cant be A because there may be other FT staff working in other offices, the premise does not comment on that. In contrast, C is correct because since employees can only be PT or FT, the NY office must all be FT if PT are excluded.

This is an IT internship question. If i'm right they couldn't care less if you know about the different jobs, they want to know if you can think analytically

Let full time workers be A
Let part time workers be B
Let offices be C

Question: A and C NOT B

The only 3 things that exist within the realm of the question are A, B and C

A bit of logic solves the question itself.

Edit: by this logic its either a or e. But i didn't pay attention in computation theory

can't be B or D obviously

can't be A because doesn't say anything else about any other offices

can't be E because same reason

it's C

There are no X in Y, therefore, everyone in Y is ~X

"There are no boys in the classroom" means that everyone in the classroom is a girl

Also AD, i asked for one at the arc office - not clubs office, the main office

Essentially my point with regards to A. Focusing on the facts alone, you cant comment on other offices given the information provided. You can however, comment exclusively on the NY Office.
