I had just started working in a shop in a shopping centre. I had 2 days of training (1 and a half hours each) then I worked all of 2 days after that (5 hr shift)....

I just rang up to find when I'll next be working but THEY SAID THEY WONT BE NEEDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, basically, I dont work there anymore!! WHat can I do?
I was really good at the job and they said I was working well....

Is this unfair??? :( :( :( :(

If your in a union give them a ring and ask. But it sounds like you were a casual, so they can pretty much put you off whenever they like.

nah, it doesn't sound like unfair dismissal

It doesn't sound like you were unfairly dismissed, as the others have said, if your a casual they can basically do whatever the hell they want, like making you work xmas eve, boxing, day, and NYE and New Years day :( grr my stupid work.

if they only let you work for two days before telling you they didn't need you, you might not have been what there looking for, or maybe just not good at some aspect of the job, or were the two working days classed as trials?

Nah, it wasn't unfair dismissal.
Where I work (small little shop in shopping centre - sounds similar to where you work), trainees train and then are let go ALL the time.

If you're a casual (which I'm assuming you are), it's true but nasty, they can do whatever they like with you.

they said it was because they had too many ppl working there anyway....

How stupid!!!! Why on earth would they bother training me then??

They said I was good with customers etc...

Grrrr... Now I'll never get a job!

if i were u, i'd ask them if they are happy to be a refernce for you when u apply for further jobs, if they r telling the truth that they had too many employees they should be happy to oblige.

haha, I'd still rather be a casual worker though more $ apparently, however stupid permanents are getting paid more than me, but muhahaha, I get more hours.
