    volunteering at st john's cadets?

Anybody volunteer at St John's? Is it worth it?
Apparently you get to go to concerts, sporting events, etc. as well as learning first aid. I've heard about it, I have a vague idea about what it is. But that's all.

I know people who do it and you learn first aid obviously and then you volunteer at places, e.g. there was a big CS:GO tournament in sydney and St John's got to volunteer for first aid, or you can volunteer at a barbecue or football match.

10/10 would recommend, great experience, very fun, very rewarding, very social, very community-friendly

it's v fun you get to do drills just like any other cadets program

and you brush up on your first aid skills every week (2 hr meetings a week) , but you also get sent on a free first aid course

also when you go on duties to volunteer (e.g. fundraising bbqs, concerts, easter show, sports) there can be little kids who treat you like you're their saviour when you give them a smol bandaid for a small graze and it's quite cute

    so yeah

    do it

    volunteer

worth the smol commitment of 2 hours a week and occasionally signing up for duties a few days a year ///just to help people in your community///also learning first aid is important and v useful///important life skill///

Personally, I went to my local division during one of their meetings to sign up.

If you're not sure where/when your local division meets up though, try contacting the NSW office!! Tell them you want to join/ask which division is your local one etc
