Hey, My name is Sean and I have tutored high school mathematics for the last five years, both privately and as an employee of several tutoring agencies. I am currently accepting new students for private tuition.

I am currently in my third and final year of a BSc (Advanced Mathematics) at the University of Sydney with a High Distinction average, and I intend to undertake an Honours year in Pure Mathematics next year.

The structure will generally be a single 1.5 hour lesson on a weekday afternoon at a rate of $30/ph for all courses excluding Extension 2, which is at a rate of $40/ph with flexible lesson durations.
In addition to the lessons, I will provide students with a vast array of mathematical resources including (but not limited to) a collection of relevant exam papers, self authored notes on various important topics, and a challenging quiz written by me once every three weeks.

My aim is to improve your understanding of mathematics itself, beyond simply teaching you a formulaic method for solving every single potential HSC question. Studying mathematics should not be entirely about memorising formulae and every step of complicated processes, it should be about acquiring those skills to not need to!
This will set you in good stead for the HSC as well as any tertiary studies involving mathematics.

Below are some of my academic achievements in high school mathematics:

2007 UAI: 98.8
Extension 1 Mathematics: 99
Extension 2 Mathematics: 99 (10th in State)

Australian Mathematical Olympiad: Bronze Certificates 2007, 2006
AMOC Senior Contest: High Distinction (7th) 2007

Invited to:
International Mathematical Olympiad Team Selection School: 2006 (25 people)
AMOC School of Excellence: 2006 (25 people)

Looking forward to hearing from you!
