Hey guys,

Can ANYONE recommend a GOOOD coaching centre for year11 3u maths?
I am still finding a reputable place for next term, preferably in main suburbs like parra, strathfield, or chatswood
It will be great if it charges <1k a term, dk if there is one...
Also, do you think tutoring for physics or chem is beneficial?

Your advice will be much appreciated :)

Personally, I went to Matrix for 3U Maths in Year 11 (although I did switch to Talent 100 in Year 12). I thought they were pretty good to be honest.

Here are some of the tutoring centres for Maths that I know of:

- Dr. Du
- Kurt Mathematics Centre
- Ngo & Sons
- Talent 100
- ACE Specialist HSC Tuition
- Matrix Education
- Dux College

I think most of these are on the expensive side however. You can check their prices and see if they're under 1K a term (although I think most of them are over 1K).

The above places are pretty well known I think. Apparently, Dr. Du has many state rankers each year but I'm not sure if that was due to teaching quality or student motivation (or could be both) - I never went there so I really can't say much about it.

In terms of your questions for Physics and Chemistry tutoring, I personally found it useful. I went to Talent 100 for Chemistry and I thought it was great but it really depends who your teacher is.

The reason why I find Phys/Chem tutoring useful is because most likely they will teach you tricks on solving calculation questions and also some techniques when writing long response questions which can be really useful. Also, they will most likely break concepts down to a simpler level whilst providing advice on managing time during exams which can be really important.

However, if your school teachers are really good and already provide the above benefits, then Physics and Chemistry tutoring may not be necessary.

Finally, consider if you would prefer private or group lessons. I'm pretty sure the above places I mentioned are all group lessons. Personally, I was more of 'group lesson' person to be honest as they have more of a structured course and you can compare yourself to people from other schools.

Hope that helped and good luck!

I currently go to Ngo and Sons/Truong's for Year 11 3U Maths, it's $330 a term and the lessons are 1 hour and 45 minutes. So far I've gone there for around 3 weeks and it's good except it's really hard to catch up on everything (I'm still struggling lol I don't understand half the stuff we learn in class) because I'm pretty sure we're learning Year 12 content at the moment but yeah

I can refer to excellent but still affordable private tutor who teaches 3 and 4 units maths. Please connect me on +61470162035 for more details.
