The No Hippies 'Cause They Smell Act 2005 (C'wlth) - after over 40's of hippy expansionism in western culture, the Australian government banned hippy-related activities with this act.

Not only does it outlaw hippy protests and music, but clothes and their general counter-culture.

Re: Global Environment LCMD thread

See the attached file for some more cases on Global Environments.

Don't forget the Tasmania v The Commonwealth case (Franklin Dam case) as this is quite interesting. It shows a dispute between state and federal jurisdictions (Tas & Fed) over the construction of thr Franklin Dam. It also shows political power used by hawke govt by jumping on the green bandwagon. Also effectiveness of an NGO (Wilderness Society) in bringing about change. It also shows the application of section 109 of the constitution as section 51 divides some responsibilities of the environment between state and fed. Because of sect. 109 fed govt has the power. Case also has International law element as Gordon below Franklin dam area declared worl heritage site. Fed govt initiates Acxt of parliament to stop daming and hold election promise.

Re: Global Environment LCMD thread

What's Global Environment all about, and will I like it? We're doing it later on (as well as Family), and I immediately thought it would be boring, Geo-related law about global warming and other such issues.
