Hey guys, I really need help with the PIP that I'll be undertaking! I already have an idea of the topic that I want to do, but I'm struggling to branch out from that for eg, what will my sub headings be, what questions will I ask people, how do I write my intro etc! PLEASE PM ME (I'll pitch you my idea and give me suggestions) :)

Hi, yeah. I'm doing Society and Culture and I'm also getting started on PIP ideas.
In your school did you do a mini-PIP in year 11? Some schools do it to help you when the real PIP comes around. :) It might be able to help you.

What's ur idea??
Once you've got your idea, research, research, research, talk to people to see where you could go with it, what specific issues interest you and where there is also a broad amount of information to use. Don;t stress too much, it will take time before you find your niche, or the exact idea in ur topic, most students will probably change a lot in the first term of year 12 which is normal.
For questions, it depends on your topic. I'm not sure, but in year 11 I did a mini-PIP on the Socialisation of women and family across two generations. I basically sent out questionnaires asking females particular aspects that affected them growing up. Like how culture or religion affected women, how they felt about these issues, how they have been influenced by family. I asked very open-ended questions. I also conducted interviews and asked similar questions.
The introduction could start off with a bit about your topic, what's it about. :)
Maybe if you pitch your idea I could think of some questions. :)

I'm still thinking of ideas too. I've looked at award-winning PIPs and State Library PIPs and a lot of them are on women, refugees, culture and women, feminism. Taking fashionable ideas such as current issues and relating it to society and culture already makes your topic more original. You also should consider the examiners marking it. They've probably read hundreds of PIPs on depression, abortion or drugs. really common topics, you've got to find that unique perspective or idea. :)

I'm in year 11 as well and struggling to find an idea. I did a mini-PIP this year but the guidelines were pretty strict so I didn't have much freedom.

I'd love to do something on diversity/representation in teen books and films. Any thoughts?
