If you're #1, just halve your exam score. eg. 80%=40, 90%=45.

What about you?
I got an A+ for Info Sys last year. So I'd hope to match that, to be honest.

I'm sure you'll get it.

I was fortunate enough to get 49 last year. That means I got 98% on the exam.

I think I was very very lucky....

For the techie constraint, I put something like: 'No time specified, meaning the techie might turn up when the store is closed.' and 'If the computers supplied by Zebra are laptops, some Aloha employees might take them home for work, which restricts the techie's ability to troubleshoot all hardware'. I agree that it was hard to come up with something for that one, although, looking back on it now it seems like there could be a great range of valid responses.

skillz, the test data should be something like 2005 3000 4440. It has to be <,=, and >.

For the television guide's value and suitability I said something about timeliness, having subpages/anchors and resizing large images to better suit an online audience.

What did you guys say were the constraints for the receipt advertising question? I said no colour capabilities and advertisments have to be small to help ensure they don't get cut off on small receipts. Also, what did you get for the IPO table on that question?

Did anyone write about black-box testing for that effectiveness question about the merchandising system? I did, but I think it's a bit of an obscure answer..just wondering if theres something more simple.

I, too, chose the camera.

How did you guys justify that Jenny should purchase System 1?

Woh, more ipm discussion.
glad i got the test data right. did you put the same test data for both validation methods??

for the tv guide. they didn't specify they were making a website or putting it online? i didn't quite understand the question..

constraints - black and white, had to be small and mostlikely couldn't contain images..

ipo table..

input - advertisements are entered into the programs
processing- ads are manipulated and moved around in the program
output - printed advertisements on the back of the receipts..

i don't think i got that right.

for the justification i wrote..

because she will be using it for video editin, she will most likely need a high-end pc. then i went onto compare the ram/hdd and sys one had a dvd-rw over the cdr.
hopefully that'll get 3 marks..

For the second validation method (type check) I used this as test data: abc (invalid), 3001(valid).

For the TV Guide they said for screen-output or something like that, which the Internet can fall under. As long as you explain why something adds value or is more suitable, you should get that.

What did you guys get for the transborder data flow question?

For the Jenny question, I basically said what you guys said, but included the fact that one is a Celeron (which has been superceded by the other, a Pentium 4).

The merchandising question was to describe a method of how they the merchandising system will improve receipts and output (basically they wanted to know how effectiveness can be evaluated).

TDB - the question about sending your information overseas??

didn't really know what to write but i justwrote they needed to protect your information and ask you for consent:/
how did you guys answer the one before it about the privacy policy??

i said.. as privacy acts and national privacy policy states that they need to tell you how they will store, use and manage your information and something else,

Yeah that was the one. It was something like 'What action can the insurance company take to protect your data when sending it to overseas parties?'. I said that they'd be required to get a copy of the privacy policy of the overseas firm and inform the client before they send information, as it is outlined by national privacy policies.

I made reference to the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 in the first part.

For the technical assistant constraints:
1. Only h/w skills, what if s/w assistance needed?
2. One morning per week being not enough time

Advertising Constraints:
1. The ad must fit on the current reciept width
2. If the ad ink is too heavy it may be hard to see the reciept on the other side in blank ink.

Effectiveness of merchandising:
They defined their organisational goals in the case study and their system goals in the evaluation question.
I merged them together (eg. better stock management, lower costs, higher profits). By merging them together I then said "organisational costs" and then "profit/loss statements". Then I said six months, time to get used to the system.

System 1 as it was for video editing. RAM needed to render video. DVD-RW to play on home entertainment system. LCD Screen for ergonomics. etc etc

TV Guide - They said "putting it on a screen"...

For the IPO one:
input - advertisements (company name logo, address, phone number, e-mail, web site)
processing- Advertisment formatted and made visually appealing
output - A graphic file that will be sent to the printing company

Info overseas --
The company it is being sent to must be reputable. They are bound by Australian privacy legislation. It must be kept secure and so forth... When being sent overseas it must be encrypted.

There you go!
