I'm taking a break for a bit, yep, a Friday night and I'm at home doing uni work, and I started wondering what other education people felt about research? Do other unis make you do a final research project? Not just an assignment, but an actual project where you need ethics approval and permission from schools/parents and stuff like that?

Well, back to it I suppose.

Yeah, I think most education courses now are heading into that direction. It does make some sense in terms of opening the door to lifelong learning and professional development (read Institute of Teachers), but yep, there are a lot of people that are starting to think their education degrees are a little too removed from the classroom to be of great help.

My project, assuming ethics gives approval, is looking at mental health in terms of planning and evaluating a unit on horror in Stage 4.
