Hey guys, did you know that Victoria University is one of the two Universities in Victoria offering its Engineering students the possibility of specialising in Power Systems Engineering.

Power engineers perform a vital role in a modern world. They look after the generation and transmission of electricity that powers homes, industry and commerce. In order to prepare for such an important career, students will receive fundamental training in basic power engineering, magnetic field and magnetic induction, energy conversion devices, power electronics and the power system generation and transmission. In order to achieve this, at Victoria University, students are exposed to subjects that cover power system analysis, operation and protection, power system distribution and high voltage engineering.

Career Opportunities:

Demand in power system engineering continues to outstrip supply. Graduates are employed in power generation, industrial and power electronics and energy industries both locally and internationally. Many work in large public and private electrical power companies.

Therefore, If you are enthusiastic about working with high voltages, I would recommend that you list Vic Uni in your preferences. You can also check out this discussion forum about the School of Electrical Engineering.
