UNSW or USYD? eeek

Hey, so I'm currently in year 12 and trying to do my UAC preferences and am completely tied between unsw and sydney uni for science. :S

I just want to do a general science (or advanced science if my atar permits). so, in your opinion which is better? taking into account:
- the cohort
- lecturers
- grounds
- nature of the course
- anything else that pops into your head

This is my first thread ever, so any replies are GREATLY appreciated.

my biased opinion would be UNSW as i went to the info day there, but i cannot compare with USYD as i did not go to their info day.

I really want to major in chemistry or biochem then, either straight away or after working for a couple of years, do a Dip. Education or M. Teaching, but i'd definitely do that at sydney uni if i'm still in sydney. but for the science degree it's a tough call.

also considering UTS as they have a degree specifically for chem but idk how uts weighs up compared to usyd or unsw

Re: UNSW or USYD? eeek

sure
usyd:
the facilities are better
their chem department didn't go to hell (i do chem, obviously)
the buildings are nicer
the lecturers are much, much better (although the best lecturer i've ever had, i gotta admit, does teach at unsw: mike archer)
easier to get to
much friendlier atmosphere
less internationals (unless you like internationals)
less mountains
lectures theatres, on the whole, are much more comfortable
better food
better bars
administration is MUCH better

Re: UNSW or USYD? eeek

i can't understate how much better the lecturers in bio, chem, and education are at usyd over what they were at unsw. they're the only four courses i can compare since everything else ive done at usyd i didnt do at unsw

:S why would i be joking?

i recently went to a usyd tsp science lecture and it looked amazing, however some people i've spoken to said unsw was better (admittedly they are bias as they go there already)
so thought i'd take advantage of the BOS expertise.
