The door is still open. INSEARCH gives you a second chance to get into a degree of your choice at UTS.

INSEARCH offers one year diploma courses that lead into the second year of most degrees at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Australian Year 12 graduates who score below the UAI cut-off for UTS undergraduate courses in 2006 can choose to study at INSEARCH for a year and gain an alternative entry into the second year of a UTS degree program. Students who achieve the required average mark (WAM) at INSEARCH, are guaranteed a place at UTS.

INSEARCH is a Higher Education Provider and is therefore able to offer eligible students access to the Australian Government Loan Scheme FEE-HELP.

i think that it is a wonderful idea that UTS (insearch) has come up with, although seeing how you have to get >average mark, how hard is it to get a > average mark, are the tests very difficult

i got 2 other questions...lol

1. when should we apply for this insearch scheme, after we get our UAI? (pretty sure it is)

2. Also, I wanna do B Construction, how come the course is not offered in the program?

Thank you. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine whether you are going to find the course easy or difficult as it is subject to individual abilities. Our diploma courses are academically rigorous and students are expected to work hard. Having said that, we do provide academic and counselling support and, should a student not reach the required WAM for entry into UTS, our academic advisors can provide alternative options with other Australian universities.

That is absolutely correct. You do need to have a UAI score in order to apply to INSEARCH.

At INSEARCH, we offer pathways that lead into the most popular UTS undergraduate degrees. However, some UTS courses are not covered by INSEARCH programs as we do not receive great demand for pathways into those courses. It is most unfortunate that the course that you are interested in, is one of them.

We can offer you an option of doing the Diploma of Design (Part One) at INSEARCH which is a 2 semester course (8 months in duration) and you can enter into the Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at UTS and major in construction and structure. However, unlike most of our courses that particular program does not give you advanced standing when you enrol into the UTS degree.

I thought this insearch thing looked too good to be true... its over $6000 a year!! and it doesnt mention anything about a hecs type system to pay it off later. Looks like ill be going to another uni if i dont get in to uts.

Depending on the course that you wish to undertake INSEARCH fees may vary between $6,500 and $7,500 per semester. INSEARCH provides high quality courses which allow you guaranteed entry into the second year of most UTS degrees.

INSEARCH is able to offer eligible students (Australian Citizens and holders of permanent humanitarian visas) access to the Australian Government Loan Scheme FEE-HELP.

FEE-HELP is an initiative of the Australian Government that allows Australian Students not receiving government support to study now and pay later. Students studying, or enrolling to study in the future, can apply for FEE-HELP. FEE-HELP is a loan from the Australian Government which is repaid through the tax system when student’s income passes a certain level.

you can do a diploma in quantity surveying and get it credited to your B Construction degree at UTS.

Quick question... This has probably already been said but just to make sure when you finish the desired course at insearch do you go into 2nd year UTS as a Commenwealth supported student or a full-fee paying student?

When you apply through UAC you need to put CSP place in the front in order to get a CSP place. I have a friend she swap it around, putting the DFEE place for first choice.....lolzzz... it comes up she need to pay the full fee in the first semester @ UTS.....

But generally, if you don't make this crazy mistake, and you fulfill the entry requirement you are eligible to gain a CSP place @ UTS.
