I am doing a bachelor of science and am either going to finish this and do a master of teaching OR transfer into nutrition and dietetics next year.

I can't decide.

I initially wanted to do secondary teaching (at a public school) because I truly want to teach kids and help them live up to their full potential.

but... for personal reasons nutrition and dietetics has always been in the back of my mind. I'd work in a hospital for a few years then open a private clinic. Health is extremely important to me and I'd love nothing more than helping people get a better quality of life (I'd specialise in eating disorders, and weight loss)

Another thought it do nutrition and casual teaching? best of both worlds, and it would work if I had my own clinic or something.

Thanks to anyone who replies :)

I'm going into teaching myself, and if you try and do both there is a risk that you'll be in schools everyday anyway. I recently came back from prac and there was a casual there who never got a day off... although she did work at more than one school.

I've got to say that the feeling when you're teaching and helping kids out is really great and rewarding, and if that's where your heart lies you should do it.

I don't know much about the area of dietics, but do what you actually WANT to do for sure.
