Hi.
I applied the the BA/Bsc double degree and Bsc with both UOW and MQ.
I did the HSC in 2001 and received a very dismal UAI but have been in the rural fire service for the past 5 years and picked up a few professional qualifications with them which are considered nationally recognised training.

What would be the odds of the institutes taking these into account?

Thanks
Peter

In Australia, all they care about is academics (BF, VF, and AF qualifications in the RFS aren't going to help much for academics), unless if you are going for a scholarship. For UOW and MQ, I don't even think you need a UAI for a mature age student (over 21 years of age). You take a test, STAT (http://www.uac.edu.au/stat/what-is-stat.shtml), and if you score high enough, voilà, you're in for most programs.
