Ok there is something i'm really guilty for and i know its ethically questionable as well as legally questionable. I often scan textbooks into pdfs with the uni library scanners and so far it has kicked ass. I often scan books i actually have bought but sometimes when i need chapters from books in the library reserve i scan those too because they have a 3 hour limit or overnight options only and it's hard for me to get to uni.

I've done this for a while and i'm beginning to think investing on a A3 scanner can pay for itself multiple times over time. Think about it
  • You can sell your textbooks and still keep the content
  • You don't have to bring a big text book around with you all day
  • You could make screen shots and make notes and highlights without making marks on a book your planning to sell
  • You could make your notes portable and thereby your bag a lot lighter by scanning pages you've written into pdfs
  • This year i'm planning pring just 1 note book around with me which i will scan as i go.
  • This practice also makes it easier to organise your notes for easy access
  • You could scan a mate's textbook and quickly return it to them (saving major dollars)

Something to think about. What do you think?
