How many EAS Bonus Points for family member with illness?

I'm looking to study combined Law at USYD in 2018... and my father has rheumatoid arthritis and a further disease I can't pronounce that gradually deteriorates one's energy and brain functioning. I know that UAC give maximum of 6 bonus points to EAS applicants. Whilst the ATAR cut-off for Arts/Law at USYD is assumeably 99.5 for 2018, and I'm aiming for an ATAR of about 98.50, what are my chances of getting an offer?

I'm really sorry for what's happening to your father, my best wishes. As for your chance of getting bonus points, I would hope it's quite high as this is no simple matter.

Many thanks, he's in a stable condition, and I'm hoping UAC might be a little lenient!

There is no "chance". If you make the cutoff your "chance" is 100%, and if you don't it is 0%.

Usyd also only give consideration to "major" disruption, worth 3 or more on the EAS scale. They ignore minor disruptions.
