Dropping from a major to a minor

So it works like this, I'm currently studying Adv Math/ Economics at UNSW, I decided to combine my math degree with eco since it would give me better job prospects (well that's what I think) and it seemed interesting to me. However as I'm as going through halfway of eco, I'm starting to hate it,my marks were getting worse and the lecturers basically make the content so boring. But I realised that I've completed enough courses to be eligible for the economics minor requirement.

So basically I'm thinking about dropping back to Adv Math with a major in applied math and a minor in economics.

My question is, what difference would that make, and how exactly does it work?

You should honestly ask the maths/economic faculty about it, I don't think we are the best people to give you an answer.

Ye best way is to ask the academic advisor lol. Forum can't help you much.

If you've completed the eligibility requirements for a minor then you have a minor, it's really as simple as that. Even if you drop that pathway altogether like a sack full of led weight if you've done 4 courses in that area and you've got the minimum of a bare pass then you have yourself a minor. 4 courses makes a minor and 8 makes a minor, so you're set. Whether they can show it on your transcript as a minor officially you will have to talk to your faculty support office about, but inherently I can't see why not. Go and ask...

    Congratulations either way.
