yeah those ppl u are referring to (the selective students queenroot was referring to) wont learn proper social skills

im sure workload would be much more (coz it's uni)

in uni it would seem more competitive esp with competitive degrees such as med and law (in terms of uni marks and transferring) although i guess u could say marks in hs are crucial esp with med where all u do is sit umat, get a high atar and do an interview (for most unis) and doing an internal transfer would be more difficult because u need to sit gamsat (6 hrs compared to umat 3 hrs and it's a written test iirc)
I am still in contact thru fb but at the end of sem they're kind of like ok see u later

Only some societies are very active, I wasn't in one if them.

Also honey gamsat is not for internal transfer and is not easy lol you still need a high hPa and good interview

im sure u can skip those late night classes and watch them at home since they're recorded (unless u do a lab, in an exam period or something)

so ur not is scisoc, bsoc, etc? coz they're the 'big' unsw societies

sorry my bad I was meant to say when doing an internal transfer you sit the gamsat as well (which is harder than umat)

Yes, it's quite cliquey. Good if you manage to get in groups early, not so good if you don't.

I don't think they're as condescending as you think about school, but they're just going to hang with people from their school or related schools just because they already would have connected with people from there before uni.

That's my experience with comm, engineering's been a bit more different in a better way.

tbh they need to learn to socialise with others regardless of school (that's what i told queenroot with regards to those selective school students)

its not like they are confined to their school only. They are confined to the selective circle jerk e.g. Ruse kids and baulko kids with nsb with nsg and then syd boys/girls st George Sydney tech Sefton normanhurst etc etc

yeah bur people usually come there with mates anyways so talking to others probably wouldn't go beyond small talk especially considering everyone is drunk

you need to add the inner west as well

does the same apply to elite private schools as well (scots college, sydney grammar, etc). legit if the selective school nerds are still continuing this i doubt they would be able to communicate with others in the workforce (if they ever plan to get full time employment)

it seems the 'leftovers/miscellaneous' arent together

i honestly thought making friends at uni is easy bc once u join uni, you're in the same position as everyone (in some sense) as in the fact that you dont know most ppl and they dont know u either and then through lectures/tutorials/labs/student societies/sports teams you meet others and make friends with them

it seems that making friends in hs is much easier than uni

depends on many factors but I found making uni friends much easier and despite what people say about international students I find they are really chill to get along with

the selective circlejerk has been covered which i agree mostly but still in my field atleast (maths/ed) most are quite chill

Probably more prevalent in law/bus/eng which is why ironically dont have many friends from those fields

Yes generally white people hang out with white people but no they are a bit less uptight

    Not good at sports unfortunately

well my problem is I transferred and did different subjects to everyone so it was like being with different people everyday, but for others, it shouldn't be a problem
