well it depends on what you are going to study. It's the best in Australia for certain subjects and average in other subjects.

In general though it has a niceish campus apart from the dated 80s looking buildings. If you are into bars, the mac unibar is decent enough and can usually get a decent name band to come out every now and then. Gerling is playing this Thursday or next.

It of course lacks the overall 'cred'of Usyd or even Unsw, but for economic and financial courses it manages to hold its own against all uni's in Australia.

Anyway, be more specific, what r u hoping to study?

My best friend is in that department and she seems to be having a great time.
I'm studying media and I love it. The 80's buildings aren't that bad at all...they're better then the turn of the century feel you get at "prestigious" sydney.

I'm not sure how it rates as a human sciences school though...it's supposed to be great for economics/finance (and if you do come here, every second person will be doing that, or a combined law degree)

the bar is standard. it has drinks. it has bands. it has wacky theme nights. it has pool tables. yeah...

but i don't think any of us can really judge. we're first years who have never been to another uni. my advice is visit the open days, get to know all you can about the courses, then you'll have the best knowledge needed to make a decision.

since then ~ForAGoodCause~ can probably drive by now.
Flyin is use to the maquarian way of threads going on a complete tangent
and iambored has been in uni for years yet nobody knows who he/she looks like...

You can sit on the grass
There is no 'stiff upper lip' mentality or bitchiness
Everyone is friendly, and I mean, everyone
It is a community, not an institution
Close to everything
Best in the state for Media type things (or so I have heard)

Any negatives? Yes - bloody construction work!
