i've written an essay on belonging

but the thing is that we studied a different text to what im doing now we studied simple gift but i have changed my mind to Skrzynecki, Peter, Immigrant Chronicle but do i have to make refer to every poem

What text type is Simple Gift?
If it's anything other than a poem then either it or your other poetry essay (depending on which one you get a better mark for) won't count.

For standard you need to do:
A poetry work
A prose fiction work
A drama
A nonfiction or film or media or multimedia text

Also, you should refer to at least two poems.
I would say three poems. Or two with very detailed analysis.
I think two is acceptable since you have RTs
