Hi everyone,

So this is going to be a pretty strange question but here goes...

I recently got an expander and am yet to get braces and I have a pretty bad lisp and unclear speech. Apparently it is meant to get better, but if it doesn't improve should I just not do a monologue? I don't want to lisp my way through it, because I know we are marked on our speech!
But I love performing and have no idea what other I.P I could possibly do.

I am worried :/

Any opinions/help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Could you incorporate a lisp into your performance as a character?

Hmmm, not really :/ I've kind of already selected a monologue a little while ago.

Thanks for answering though!

It probably be better to change as as I think speech dictation is part of marking criteria..

The lisp and discomfort wears away a few weeks after your braces are on, so if your monologue presentation date is several weeks after then you should be fine :) If not, it may be better to switch.

Thank you - I hope you're right! :)
