Hey Everyone!

I'm looking to apply to study in America for 2019, namely Ivy League colleges like Harvard, Stanford etc. A common theme they all share is that they require/recommend around 4 years of study of a foreign language. For example, in America, Spanish is very popular. At my school, we don't offer languages to such an extent and most people do not take it, so it is too late for me to take a language class for the HSC. How would this affect my chances as an overseas applicant?

Thanks!

Is this just for exchange or for undergrad? Either way, it sounds like a really strange requirement unless you're applying for an arts/language school or something... can you provide the link to where it says that? I'm fairly sure they don't care if you know a second language or not, as long as you're fluent in English.

^^^ yeah agree. Shouldn't really matter anyway as it's not really part of the curriculum here. My friend just got into Princeton and I'm pretty sure she didn't take any languages
