# Thread: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

1. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

Well all I know is

I attempted 80/120

and am pretty sure I will only get about 5 wrong in terms of mistakes

the only problem is I aint ranked 1st in my class, and If I get dragged down much, I aint going to be happy at all lol

wow 70/120 scales to 90-rumours? thats not too bad

3. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

Where do these incredulous rumours stem from?
Perhaps 70/120 would have scaled to 90 in some of the other years, but it's unlikely that it'll happen this year, given the *relative* easiness of the test.

Full marks was certainly achievable in that exam - since it was within the reach of seven of the top James Ruse mathematicians! [Oh rumour mills make the world go round.]

I agree with QBguy-the cut off should be around 90(this is based on 2004 where it was 89)-lol QBguy keep posting ur on fire

...Damn I thought 70 was way too low.

*Tears begin to well*

Well, only time will tell

6. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

keep ur hopes up Rax-if a lot of people made silly mistakes then it might be around 80-i'm just basing this on everyones predicted marks-lol i know i made quite a few silly mistakes(even though i checked over it) i hope perhaps there will be more silly mistakes and the cutoff will be lower

depends on ur internal as well haque if u want state ranking, wat was ur rank?

8. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

Too many silly mistakes man so state ranking chances are prolly(close to definitely) gone-i'm number 1 for 3U and 4U-good luck to u and everyone else for their exam results-i'm scared of december 19

Edit:btw how did guys at ur school(NSB) go?

9. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

i havent asked the top guy (topping 3u and 4u) but i dont think anyone else rekons they got full marks for 4u, for 3u there will probably be a few full markers in the top10.

10. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

so how many 110+ r u guys expecting? yea for3u quite a few guys thought full marks too(at my skool)-there's a bit of debate on interpretting the blocks q in 3u whether the order in which the colours are stacked is relevant or not or whether it is the different number of blocks that causes the towers to be different

11. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

all you people who keep saying how easy it was, we don care, just because you cant speak english and do esl for the hsc doesnt mean you can brag about smashing 4 unit, because i don think you will ever hold down a job if you cant speak english. hahaha

12. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

Um, no, we are also a lot better at english than the likes of you and are ranked in the top five in english advanced at selective schools that are performing quite well-if others are doing better than you then take it graciously-obviuosly you are envious due to the talent you lack. By the way getting 110+ isn't necessarily smashing it.

Man you're an idiot.

Either a pathetic troll or just a brainless twit.

It's ironic that you criticise other board members, proclaiming they "cant speak english and do esl", whilst your sentences are poorly written themselves. There are many cases of enjambment throughout your post, not to mention incorrect spelling and incredulously appalling grammar.

That having said, I think it's fairly agreeable that this year's Maths Extension 2 exam was one of the easiest ones written. [Which is fairly unfortunate for those at the very top (Vinh and Charles), since they're unable to set themselves apart with their mathematical ingenuity.]

15. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

There should have been harder locus questions for complex numbers and conics+there should have been harder q on circular motion+ there should have been harder q on real analysis and irrationality-this year's test didn't test enough aspects of 4unit i.e silly mistakes will become a big part and many people's preparation was worthless

16. ## Re: Predict raw mark /120 + scaled mark

Yeah there were a few too many harder 3 unit questions in that paper...
