Hi guys,
I went to Terry Lee's tuition for Extension 2. He is the author of the book Advanced Mathematics. His book helped me alot.
He sent me his solution at this link: www.hsccoaching.com/2006Ext2.pdf
I think I got between 85-90%.
Quite happy.:)

extremely minor correction for the solutions (i dunno how picky they are when marking so...)

Q3 c) i) b = 1 not b = +-1 (the question info says b>0)

Hi guys again,
These are Terry's comments about the paper:

My thoughts about this paper are:
1) Not too hard but it does have some tricky parts.
2) A student (of mine) claimed that he finish it within 2 hours. I doubt it.
3) Total 4-unit topics = 75/120, which is only 62.5%. This is pretty low. Probably the lowest in many years. This is how I count: Integration 20, Complex Numbers 12, Conics 13, Curve Sketching 6, Polynomials 7, Volume 6, Mechanics 11.
4) Of the harder 3u topics, (which takes 37.5%) some parts are quite easy. Half of the circle question (Q4d) is tough while the other half is too basic, the trig. equation (Q5b) is straight forward for those who have seen it before, the probability question (Q5d) is hard, but only the last part, but even for this part I have taught you guys a similar question (evidence is in the postscript), more trig in Q6a and 7a and believe it or not, I find both questions 7 and 8 this year very easy, although they look confusing. I'm sure under exam condition, some of you would rather forget it by the look of it. Ah, love or hate at first sight!
Good luck with 3u paper tomorrow.

What do you think?

God, looking over those solutions for question 8........ I feel like a complete moron for not being able to see that in the exam. Guess thats Ext II for ya.........but damn.
Damn Damn Damn

Still I should be able to get 75-80 at the moment, looking at those solutions.

Which is looking great
