    Quotes in an essay

I've heard many people mentioning a minimum number of quotes required in each body paragraph. However I'm doing a related text which is a film, do I still need quotes from the film or is analysing film/cinematic techniques enough? Or do I need both?

Quotes dont have to be dialogue, eg in a film a 'close up shot' (in context of whats happening) could be used as a quote/technique

On top of the comment above which is definitely the way to go, I'd suggest for the sake of it to try and fit in at least one quote even if it's a film,

That means try and have at least one of your analysis dedicated to exploring dialogue or even a sign that has writing on it. This way your paragraph will force itself to use literary analysis on top of visual analysis.
