VCE Tutor (English, Economics, Maths Methods, Specialist Methods)

2nd Year medical student with strong communication skills and extensive knowledge of the VCE coursework and expectations.

Completed VCE in 2006 with ENTER of 99.95.
VCE RESULTS (scaled scores follow raw scores)
English: 50
Specialist Maths: 44 (52.64)
Maths Methods: 48 (49.44)

Experience as a VCE year tutor teaching both Year 11 and 12 in English, Maths Methods, Specialist Meths and Economics since the early 2007. All subjects are up-to-date in terms of coursework and exam advice, including current English texts and relevant economics information. English texts known include Hamlet, Othello, Richard III, Macbeth, King Lear, 1984, Animal Farm, Secret River, Accidental Tourist, Quiet American, Triage, King Oedipus, Hard Times, Crucible, Gattaca and others. Texts not already known will also be studied as necessary.

I have flexible hours (weeknights or Sundays) and am willing to provide extra support between sessions (via phone and email). I am capable of teaching students of any standard, including students who are looking to achieve exceptional study scores (45+).

I am flexible in my teaching style and can teach students in Units 1/2 and 3/4. An emphasis is placed on staying on top of the coursework and preparation for the all-important final exams while still preparing for SACs. Notes as well as extensive practice-question/exam-style preparation are provided throughout the year.

I have significant communication and organisation skills from past tutoring experience, past work experience and professional training as a medical student.

Hourly rate for private one-on-one tuition is $25 an hour, and I prefer students to come to my residence (in north-eastern suburb of View Bank) which has an ideal, quiet tutoring environment.

CV and police check are also available on request.
