Need an English Tutor?I am a Third Year University student who is available to tutor VCE English (Yr 11 and 12) for 2009. About Me I graduated from Glen Waverley Secondary College in 2006 with a 99+ ENTER Score and an English Study Score of 50. I am now in my Third Year of a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and History, at Monash University. I have maintained a HD Average throughout my course. Experience I have tutored in VCE English previously, and have helped students achieve a 40+ Study Score. My Tutoring I can provide assistance with: -Spelling, grammar and vocabulary -Essay structure and technique -Understanding feedback from teachers -Understanding the requirements of the the study design -Oral presentations, language analysis, and persuasive writing In my tutoring sessions I will provide: -the opportunity for in-depth discussion of texts, issues and contexts -valuable study tips, motivation and help with organisation and time management -extensive resources, and assistance in developing your own study material Texts I have in-depth knowledge of the following Yr 12 texts, as well as a number of Yr 11 texts: -The Secret River by Kate Grenville -Romulus, My Father by Raimond Gaita -Sometimes Gladness by Bruce Dawe -The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger -Look Both Ways -Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -Great Short Works by Edgar Allen Poe -1984 by George Orwell -Of Love and Shadows by Isabel Allande I am also able to provide assistance with essay writing technique for texts not mentioned above. Location and Price I am available to tutor in Glen Waverley and surrounding suburbs, at your home or a central location such as local or school libraries. Price depends on location and year level, but will generally be around $25-$30 per hour.
