a couple of days ago i dug a hole, put a post up and filled it with inferior concrete (i only realised after. oh well.. day after though i filled about 20cm with good concrete.)

i'll give the concrete a few more days to 'cure', but meanwhile i need to find a way to waterproof the heavy bag.

so how would i go about waterproofing a leather heavy bag?

there's no chance i'd able to take the bag up and down everytime i use it,
i can't even lift the damn thing. (too bulky and heavy)

i was thinking of getting those sprays you use to water-proof leather shoes, and just going at it?

or should i wrap the whole bag in duct tape, then do it?

or just wrap it in several layers of duct tape?

it's an old bag.. pretty worn.
the metal shackles have surface rust on them.
so i don't really care if any sealants/sprays stain the thing.

Scotch guard could prolly work, coupled with faith, trust and hope.
Or putting it inside multiple plastic (not the weak ones) bags if that is practical.

lol, no scotch guard would not work.

and why is your heavy bag on the ground
well it used to be on one of those multi boxing station set ups.
problem was when the bag was up, i couldn't do pull ups/chin ups.

i hope the pole i put in will hold.. that way i can just hang the bag there permanently, and have the pull up station free all the time

I fear I may have made myself sound too serious then...although he did say "just going at it"

i should probably note i don't want the water-proofing making the bag slippery.
that would suck lol.

why woudl that suck are you climbing up your heavy bag or something?
yeah i use it to reach the tree house, which has a closet to Narnia.
i'm actually getting fit so i can help the lion fight the witch .

can you imagine a slippery punching bag?
when you throw a left jab, a right cross and a hook, all slippery.

so i should use duct tape? and cover it all?

but you should be hitting the bag completely flush and then recoiling right away, so i don't see why it matters if it is slippery

and maybe duct tape if you have the time and i assume it would be really frustrating after awhile

like you have to punch the bag center on, or the bag will sorta turn, or pivot.. twist around.

if it's slippery it'll slip off center lol.

duct tape it is then

Who recoils after throwing a hook, you punch through the bag

You can pick up canvas bags p cheap if you're worried about water damage

i've got enough bags as it is lol.

i really like this one though, it's like 60-65kg, leather (i think it is.. can't tell), about 1.2m.
weighs the same as me

replacement new would cost $350+
