Hello,

I was looking over a few HSC questions for practice and the following came to mind. I'm not that good at English, so for the following questions in the 2006 and 2005 HSC, what would the marker be looking for, and what should I've written to get a Band 6?

Could someone please give me a guide on what should I've written in the intro (I'll then try and work on the body from that)

I've studied: 'When You Are Old', 'The Wild Swans at Coole', 'Easter 1916' and 'Leda and the swan' so far.

Question 1

To what extent has your personal response to the poetry been shaped by the enduring power of Yeats’ poetic treatment of age and youth?

Support your evaluation with a close analysis of TWO poems by Yeats.

Question 2:

‘Interpretations of texts can shift and change with time and place.’

Considering your time and place, reflect on the ways in which context has shaped your critical interpretation of the prescribed text.

In your response, refer to the TWO poems you have studied.

Thanks everyone if you can help =D
