Perspectives are based on individual observation and subsequent interpretation. The representation of personalities, events and situations is shaped by the selection and emphasis of personal understanding to persuade acceptance of perspective. Conflicting perspectives allow an individual the opportunity to make comparisons and draw similarities of perspectives to shape their own perception. The link between conflicting perspective and representation is explored in “The Shot” and “The Minotaur” by Ted Hughes and “Daddy” by Sylvia Plath.
