Yesterday, 2:27 PM ![]() | Re: So who's ready for tomorrow's exam? I feel relatively confident with the content but my main concern is getting a ridiculous critical response question or a crazy stimulus for creative writing. I know it's a 'genre' study and we have to develop an understanding of conventions, etc. but I really hate (with a passion) the idea of testing creative writing. It's not so much 'creative' as it is forced adherence to a stimulus with emphasis on reshaping a pre-written story, in a time limit. Those who don't cope with the pressure of being 'creative' within an hour are essentially screwed. IMO it's a lot harder to be genuinely creative under pressure in regard to a genre you've no passion for than it is to develop a coherent and comprehensive essay response.
