Now that the HSC is over, I figured I'd compile a list of helpful related texts for language and gender from my class! (Since it was such a pain for me to find some- there are hardly any resources for this topic)
My texts:
-Pirates of Penzance (Operetta)
- Boys don't cry (film)
- The Handmaid's Tale (novel)
I generally did Handmaid and pirates, as Boys don't cry was too dark, like Elizabeth. I'll also upload my essay later.
Other peoples texts:
- Lady Chatelay's Lover
- the Tiger Princess
- Juno
- The Graduate
- Lolita
-Philadelphia story
-Picture of Dorian Grey
A tip for related texts: You should try and use one from a different perspective (eg. If you're doing 12th night and Elizabeth, find a text from a male perspective instead, for greater contrast)
