If enough people break a rule, the markers are pretty much forced to 'change the rule' in order to bring in roughly the same no. of band 6/5/4 etc as the year before. You can't have an entire year fucking up an important response and all receiving band 4's simply because it wasn't written clearly.

This is complete bullshit. How is English even considered a real subject, if you can blatantly ignore the question and the markers don't care.
