Hey everyone,
just wondering what kind of idea will (usually) get the better marks from examiners? I heard somewhere that post-modern and really "out-there" Short stories do really well...and that the 'typical' kind of story doesn't do as well? Is this true? - I'm probably wrong.. But just wondering because my idea is quite "typical" - it's about death and in some aspects, the five stages of grief.
Thanks in advance for all replies

A lot of people do postmodernism, and most of them often misinterpret it or have their work end up as derivatives of other postmodern work.

Teen angst is also bleh.

A simple short story told well will still get good marks.

Postmodern stuff doesn't do well if you don't write it well. So get an idea you are passionate about so that you can write about it with flair, then you will go well- its more important.

Take a read of the Marking Centre notes, they've made comments on ideas such as postmodern.
