Well here goes nothing....

My video is entitled 'What you see is not what you get' and is about how most people of ethnic background have a certain stereotype placed upon them without doing anything wrong and the fact that people of ethnic background do not all fit into the stereotypical role portrayed by the media. Get me?

In a video you have two options. To aurally give out your ideas and let the visuals back them up or to give the viewers the visual images and have the aural speech (in my case narration) back the images up. Ive chosen the second method because in my video it can be considered a highly biased work because if I dictate to them my opinion it will sound as if im not being truthful whereas if I give them the images they are less likely to sense a great deal of bias in my video.

I got to Sydney Technical High School and we have ZILCH equipment to use and so I bought a new computer to the expens of $4500 just for this one video. It costs a fortune to get a decent computer for video capture/editing needs.

Especially with regard to the video major works, you want to go for depth, insight and creativity - throw in a psychological perspective and twist it in some way to make the viewer think "Oh, wow, that makes sense, it really does happen" et cetera. Or something along those lines.

You really want something insightful shining through, but I'm too tired at the moment to think of anything. I might post here again in a few days time. :p

Obviously there is going to be certain video techniques used when filming the 'stereotypes'. The loud thumping music, etc.. low camera angles.. Its all coming quite smoothly (in terms of filming). I have a friend of mine who has this turboed car and i got the 'stereotypical' shots, etc.. u know what I mean

Any ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated
