i really feel like my italian continuers work is getting much better bcos of extension, ti piace Aidi? perche' la mia insegnante ha detto che alla maggior parte delle ragazze non piace Aidi.
Secondo me, l'attrice e' molto bella! e Aidi e' un personaggio molto complesso

I think its because ext demands better control of vocab and tenses etc. I don't know about you, but doing ext, when i go to continuers, I find that I seem to know more that the other students when it comes to all the "teen angst" issues that are covered in ext.

of ocurse your work would get better, you are getting extra hours of italian per week. on top of that the class is likely to be smaller so you get more individual attention. and as well as all that you are learning a higher level than the others! it will be a great benefit to you!

Use sopratutto instead of especialmente it's much more italian, also the phrase "ma Aidi non e' normale, ma non mi piace i suoi capelli" seems really weird, i mean come on you don't like her hair, what has that got to do anything. Also remember that an uncertainty takes the subjunctive, should be "Non sono sicura che Aidi sia una ragazza complessa". Also that last phrase doesn't really make sense. Instead of saying "e con Alex" u should probs say, Da un lato Aidi vuole...e dall'altro Alex solo vuoloe stare in Italia ecc.
Also it shouldnt be 'cambia' should be cambiare and, 'cambiare tutto per lei' doesnt sound very italian in its expression.

Stephanie, ti piace Siiimooon e Gaarfunkeeel?
Sono degli anni settanta?

gee.. you can't tell that I suck at writing can you? I hate writing with a passion, but only because there's so much I haven't learnt yet. Last yr's Italian teacher was a shocker and she didnt teach us the subjunctive, direct/indirect object pronouns, and I haven't really done a lot of the work for italian this year even though my teacher is heaps better.. but Soma, thanks for the corrections- feel free to correct me anytime you like.. I need the help..

My half yearlies doesn't have Jack in it.. If it did.. I'll probably die. I had my continuers exam yesterday and I died- it was really hard, but my teacher said that I did really well .. hope so.

anitabenita i've got notes for jack but they're in english.. is that ok? If so, I'll fix them up and I can send them to you if you want.. up to you.

yeh that would be great thanks heaps steph, in your continuers exam was it a past HSC paper?

steph@nie
4 Apr 2004, 7:19 PM
Nah, we've already done a majority of the past papers for continuers so it was just an exam that my teacher made up. I got 25/25 for listening.. so i was really happy.. lol.. my teacher was so happy that she kissed my exam paper.. weirdo..

hehe good work....how do u study for continuers? i have no idea what to study for

steph@nie
12 Apr 2004, 7:13 PM
i dont study... I think I posted a thread about studying.. some of the past italian students posted, have a look at their suggestions. Are you Italian in background? cause if so, for speaking I go to my nonni's house and I talk to them for a few hours about stuff.. its good practice!
Listen or watch the Italian news and learn your tenses etc. Thats pretty much it, if you get a dictionary, its pretty alright- in mine theres a verb table and how to conjugate them, and the middle bit has some good expressions.

Italian Extension speaking was an absolute killer- I definetly have to practice that one a bit more!

yeh i'm from Italian background but when I go to my nonni's its Calabrese dialect...so i'm there trying to teach them italian! Dad has rai so thats a bonus for listening skills i guess but hello how fast do they want to speak during the telegiornale my god! Had italian continuers friday. The paper turns out to be a past HSC exam which I had done ages ago so I guess I went alright on it. When I asked my teacher where she got the exam from she said she made it up... e` una bugiarda! hehe

Buona Pasqua!

steph@nie
13 Apr 2004, 8:21 PM
Buona Pasqua to you too.. I so forgot about that!

Oh yeh I know what you mean about the dialect, my dad only speaks dialect and I spend more time correcting him than actually practising! Mine are from the north, so its not that bad, my nonno can speak proper, so thats good- over easter we had this argument about how you say 'farm' in italian (he says farma, I say fattoria).
I'm sure you went well in your exams, especially if you're doing extension. Enjoy your holidays!!

hey anita,
No.. i wish we were going! My teacher mentioned it, but she wasnt allowed to take us on 3 excursions in 3 weeks, some stupid rule at my school. We're going to see a film at Norton though on the 13th.. I hope its good, other wise what a waste of a day!
We got the letter for the speaking exams, 11th and 18th of sept if I remember correctly. I'm so scared.. How did you do in your half yearlies? I think after this, I'm going to be the only one left in extension at my school... scary! I'm halfway through those notes for Jack, sorry they've taken so long, I've been given what seems like 4 million assessments this week. Ciao!

edit: We're going to continuers, not extension, i dont think.

edit 2: Had extension this morning, we're going to both. So much for the rule... :s

Hey Steph,
Sorry haven't written in a while, i've just had sooo many assessments. I'll only be going to the extension italian study day this friday because we have a maths exam on the day of the 2 unit study day which is a pain.
Anyways i'll see you friday i guess! Ciao ciao!

ciao a tutti!!

benvenuti!

you said you always forget the accents, no wonder since you leave them out, practice putting them on in here as well, with " ' " like "mi e' piaciuto ... pero' il..."
