Will I be an outspoken critic with a small gathering of followers, or just someone with not much to say and no one to listen. The latter is far more likely, methinks. Nevertheless I shall (possibly) begin to write opinionated pieces here. Or maybe I'll just tell jokes and poke fun at people.
First things first. Exams. Just finished my Biology exam today and it made me think of how in junior years I always considered exams to be the easiest way for me to get marked, since it only takes a short amount of time to do. Unfortunately it doesn't work out that way, and people can run out of time. It seems to me that the exams are just a snapshot of what people can do. So what if we can't bring to mind exactly what has to be there in order to answer the question immediately, that shouldn't therefore mean that we don't know what we are talking about. Some people do things slower than others, but know exactly the same thing, just as well. I think SACs are also difficult to use to test people on. I suppose they have to test us somehow, and exams are the traditional way. If only someone were to think of a better way. Maybe we should all have the same textbook and be tested on the same knowledge, instead of letting the teachers decide what we know. Then I suppose the teachers wouldn't have much control over what they teach. BUT it would make it easier to give a statewide grading. What do other people think? (Who happen to visit this blog)
