Also my friend was telling me that you are able to do any science degree and if you do really well, like acheive above a credit average you can sit the UMAT and transfer into medicine after one year, or during your course is this true?

THANKS GUYS APPRECIATE YOUR REPLIES :)

Are there any dentist out there who can shed some light on this?

Hello all,

My understanding of a prerequisite is a subject that you need to complete before you can gain entry to a course. Is this correct?

The prerequisites for JCU's Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery are:

Prerequisite/s:
English, Maths B and Chemistry (Physics desirable)#

What I would like to know is whether or not you can gain entry into the course without completing the prerequisites. It just seems strange to me that JCU has these prerquisites when not any university that I know of, in NSW, has any prerequisites for medicine other than UMAT and an interview with an ATAR of 95.00+. Does UMAT test chemistry skills and mathematics?

It says on JCU's website that if a physics course is not completed at high school, the JCU bridging course must be taken. Would it be possible to be accepted without having studied chem and maths? Couldn't you just take bridging courses from TAFE's Statement of Attainment in preparing for mathematics and science further study?

I know that it is a bit early for me to be thinking about this, but I'm just curious. Thank you.

Regards,

James

Can a qualified medical doctor work as a nurse without obtaining a Bachelor of Nursing? Can they become a registered nurse without further study? Similarly, can a qualified MD work as a physiotherapist without completing extra formal education and training?

Does anyone thinking about doing physio at UWS if they cant get enough mark of USYD? Im soo frustrated about what options i have, like there is no way that i will get ATAR of 99 or something to get into USYD and ive been viewing posts here and did some research about the BHS and the GEM offered in usyd, the only thing is that me and my family simply cannot afford 50K for 2 years the master degree even i have guaranteed a place to that, and theres only few spots for CSP and its extremely competitive.

UWS has its 4 years degree ( Bachelor of Health Science/ Master of Physiotherapy), which is one 1 year less than usyd and i bet its cutoff would be lower than usyd as well, plus the bonus points stuff so it seems very attractive. My concern is that would that one year of master still costs heaps? and does it matter if you do physio in uws instead of usyd?
Since they pretty much the same if you do BHS in usyd (3years) + Master of physio (2years) = 5 years
Whereas in uws BHS (3years which include some physio stuff) + master of physio (1year) = 4 years

USYD has a good reputation and all that and UWS isnt very hmm i dont know :(

can anyone give me some suggestion and ideas? thanks alot!!!!
