I'm liking endothermic reactions. They're cool :P
i know this is kind of a dumb question, but what is so special about the way water is bonded? i ended up leaving it blank on my last prac test. i always do good on the prac part but not the theory part
hmmm, probably has to do with the interactions between water molecules. they can hydrogen bond with one another H-O-H--------------------OH2 etc
Hydrogen bonds means that the bonds are strong, and has a relatively high melting and boiling point compared to other smallish covalent molecular substances (water is somewhat small). I think there's a bit more, but I can't remember exactly what it is
There is also the way that the Hydrogen bonding causes the water molecules to arrange themselves differently to other substances as it goes from a liquid to solid state, as it expands as it freezes, rather than contracting
