UWS takes the better of your GPA or ATAR if you haven't completed your degree yet.

You would need to reach a 5.7 GPA threshold (6.1 (?) for non-GWS) and then an unspecified UMAT threshold and then from there it is off your interview (unless you are tied last for an offer then they give it to the person with the higher UMAT afaik).

It was pretty much the only reason I got in. My section 2 went down from 2011 and my section 3 stayed the same. It was weird that section one improved even though it was already alright the year before.
My GPA/WAM is not good enough for entry into med, I got in on my ATAR/UMAT/interview. If you want to get in you'll need at least a 5.7 GPA!

I'm from the GWS area (I live like 15 minutes drive from the Med school at UWS) and my UMAT scores were:
Sections:
1 - 76
2 - 47
3 - 57
Overall - 60
Percentile - 86th
Weighted UWS Score - 151.5
My ATAR was 94.75 and my GPA was ~4.4 and WAM ~65
