What would happen if student A was ranked last in a subject but then attained an average exam mark while student B was ranked average and then completely bombed the final exam? Would A's internal mark be as low as B's exam mark? Or does the scaling work on more of a standard deviation basis?

Following this point... All English essays at our school have only one thing written on them by the marker: the mark. That's it. How are we ever supposed to know what we did wrong if they don't tell us?? Are all other schools like this...? Me too! My teacher was unbelievably shit so I hated...
