  1. Re: If I fail a subject but then redo it later with good marks how will this be with

I don't go to USYD, but generally speaking, WAM and GPA are averages of your marks. It depends on all your subjects, so even doing amazingly well in one subject can have little effect if you bomb out...

    It doesn't.

(if you mean school rank as in the rank of your school)

    Re: common error.

Interestingly, on the fx-82AU PLUS calculator, if you type in 6÷2(1+2), you get 1, but if you type in 6÷2x(1+2), you get 9.

Re: 1st Year Engineering WAM booster subjects

I see. You should do COMP, MATH and ENGG because they are core in the 3 degree options you've listed. I can assure you that if you don't do your cores early, especially the ones which are...

MATH1231 is pretty easy, but I'm not sure if the marks are capped since there's MATH1241.

    I would not recommend...

You can enrol into MATH1131 whilst your in Media Arts or whichever degree - you won't be restricted. The main thing is to be certain you want to do Computer Science. You pretty much have to love...

Re: Mathematics in Comp Sci/Software Eng?

The maths in first year will be the same as any other engineering degree offered at UNSW, so they assume you have 3 unit knowledge. The content goes deeper into 4 unit content, and there are many new...

They will most likely open more classes. In fact, they have already planned for this: https://my.unsw.edu.au/classutil/FINS_S2.html#FINS1613T2 (referring to the tentative classes)
  13. Re: First Year - Semester 2 Subject Choices - Don't know what to pick - Mechatronics

You really have just two options - ELEC1111 or another first year engineering elective.

When I was in your situation, I decided not to do MATS (because it has way too many hours and bad time slot...

You can change your enrolment. You can drop a course for a certain period of time and pick up courses for a certain period of time with no issue.
  16. Re: Strength of Gravity approaching centre of Earth

That's irrelevant information, it approaches 0 as you go towards the centre, not as it approaches the outer core or whatever. However, it should be noted that since the density of the layers differ,...

    Re: Program transfer First year

18UOC per semester is the minimum amount for full time study. 24UOC is typical, i.e. if you want to finish your degree in that given amount of years, you should do 24UOC per semester.
