    Volumes by shells

Oh okay, I get it now. Thanks Spiralflex! @Asianese, how did you get from line 2 to 3? (Sorry I'm kinda a noob.)

    Volumes by shells

Just note that you'll need to split the volumes up into the darker blue area and the lighter blue area (which is simply a cylinder). To be honest, I'm not sure what you did in your first line of working but it should look something like this: <img...

    Chemistry preliminary question

You know that when atoms form bonds, energy is released. Conversely, when bonds are broken, energy is absorbed. Thus when atoms combine to form compounds, energy is released because there are no bonds (assuming atoms refers to single lone atoms) being broken and only bonds being formed...

    help with graphing

Remember that for reciprocal functions, the new function is always the same sign as the original function and thus on the same side (in terms of positive and negative mind you) (This is because 1/number will always give the sign of the number). In terms of limits, understand that: f(x) \to...

    Help with graphs!

Oh okay, my graph sorta resembles a -sin x graph but it somehow looks a little different. Is this also like the table of values method? o: And ty~

    Help with graphs!

Oh okay that makes sense. I like your point about the minimum and the maximum, I never really noticed it -slow- Haha well that is why I am doing these graphs :D So I can try and get familiar with them. Thanks lolcakes.

    Help with graphs!

I drew them both and then I got stuck... hurhur.. but cool, I'll remember your point about critical points. Thanks D94. :D

    Help with graphs!

How would I graph y = 2-sin x? Please go through what's in your mind cause I haven't a clue on how to sketch it. > < I would really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance. :)

    Difficult complex questions, help!!

Haha gosh I didn't even think of doing that, I just went straight to the args. Guess I just like /arguments/ more. That works too. :) Ty for that. And congrats on your post count.

    Please enlighten me. :D

    Difficult complex questions, help!!

Adding to what Seanieg said (for 1b), you find the argument of the given condition. Using your knowledge of args, you will be able to rearrange yourself and (hint) find yourself a certain property of a quadrilateral allowing you to determine what it is. ;)

    Difficult complex questions, help!!

Hi do you have the answers to these questions? :) Regarding question 1a), have they arbitrarily plotted the points or do they have specific numeric values? D: If it is arbitrary, This is just a case of simple vector addition and subtraction. :) Just plotting z1 and z2 randomly mind you.

    triangular inequalities (complex)

Hi I solved this geometrically. Note that B represents (4 + 3i) or in other words z2. With pythagoras' theroem, AB is 5. So BC is 1 (min value) and BD is equal to 11 (max value) I hope you can gather all that from the info. on the diagram. If not, feel free to ask. ^ ^ Just remember...

    max and min (complex)

Are you okay with the idea that the sum of any two sides of a triangle will be greater than the other side? Similarly with the other triangle inequalities, <img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?|z_{2}| + |z_{1} - z_{2}| > |z_{1}|" title="|z_{2}| + |z_{1} - z_{2}| > |z_{1}|" />...

done so bad first assessment ..

Do lots of past papers! ^ ^ You shouldn't take the questions you see as the questions you will get in your test but I think it's good practice in applying your knowledge to exam questions. Basically, just lots of practice in maths will get you far. :) Don't forget to check your answers in the...

Can someone give me a run down on fundamental theorem?

    A function is even if <img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?f(x) = f(-x)" title="f(x) = f(-x)" /> And it is odd if <img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?-f(x) = f(-x)" title="-f(x) = f(-x)" /> If it is neither, you don't do anything to the limits/boundaries. I don't see...

please help - tangent to curve parabola

    Note: You should always draw a diagram especially if you get stuck. :D Okay so you know that <img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?a" title="a" /> is equal to 0.5. [ <img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?x^2 = -4ay" title="x^2 = -4ay" />] Therefore the directrix is at <img...
