Heh, yeah, I'm doing that SAC at the moment. I have no idea what I'm doing. I think I was caught off guard by the awesomeness of having Bill and Ted in a SAC, and now I'm stuffed. The last part's not too bad, but that first bit saw half our class fail .

Have you finished since the last post?

Lol, yep...i had a lot of trouble with the first half too (ended up leaving heaps out completely) and the 2nd half was taking ages, before i realized i was doing something wrong and did them all again fairly quickly....(btw, yes i've submitted it already)

the requirements were supposed to be something like 800-1200words, 6-12pages......umm, not sure about words, but i had bit over double that many pages...

i had the most trouble with Q3 (equating the gradient formulas find eq for a in general form...) shouldnt that have been an easy one?

now that ive finished i can provide a little help, but pity i couldnt find anyone while i was doing it.

I ended up making a function for the distance formula in my calc there was so much of the same damn long boring equation!!!!

Anyway, how are you going with it/where are you up to?

Re: SAC 2 (Bill and Ted's excellent math adventure...)

I've got one more period on it on Wednesday, so we have the second part. I was cool with all the calculus, but I had the same trouble with you on the Gradient question. It should be easy, and I'm not sure what to do with it. It's really annoying.
I'm not really sure what to do with the graph, either. I mean, I can do it on the calculator, but I can't think up a way of concievably having done it on paper.
And a calc program is a great idea. It sucks how much of that you have to do. If we actually got to keep our calculators between periods, I'd do the same, but I doubt I'll have time to wrte it once we get in there. I've done half of those two questions, with point A, but not with point A* yet, as I got annoyed fast.

How do you think you went all up? Have you got them back yet?

    Anything you're kicking yourself over?

I ended up with 14 for the first points instead of 17, which was a pain in the ass. I think I was so used to writing route 14 that I ended up with 14 by itself out of habit!

    Oh well.
At least it's slightly more interesting than book excercises.

I havent got it back yet, wont for a while. I think i did pretty OK, but would be SO much better if i could go and do the questions i missed from the last half (coz it took so long on the rest)
i put off writing full conclusions for each until after i got the maths out of the way...though because of time i didnt do more than a very brief sentence if any

And of course i forgot to include the calculator screen shots for the questions i did by hand(Im in CAS so wanted to do it all by hand, and then again on calc to make sure i dont lose marks either way)

but yes it was more interesting than standard work...if only it wasnt so long and tiring

I really hope everyone else in the class struggled as well

Ahh, right, you're doing CAS. I'm just plain old Methods, so we don't get the fancy extras.
    Still, I see the point.
Good to know you thought you went okay. Gives me some hope. I'd like to be able to go back and have another go at the stuff I screwed up too, but that won't happen. I hope my class does as badly as I do too, in the nicest possible way .

Oh well. We'll see how it goes to-morrow, I guess.

And yes, random poster, San Diemas High School Football does indeed rule.

    Most excellent!

Lol, i had "most excellent" in a few of my comments/conclusions of the questions

(they had a most excellent car etc they didnt need to pull over, they could stay excatly where they were during travel, and headlights shine from the center of the car.....etc etc so lights will shine tangent.....)

CAS works brilliantly for similar minded people as me...i think its a ability with technology (natural ability to understand software etc not experience with it.....depends on which calc you use i spose (love the nspire!)

I didn't bother trying to be smart with my inclusions. I just scribbled 'bodacious' and 'most excellent' next to the questions when I was trying to work them out. I don't think we'll get bonus marks though .

I would have preferred to do CAS, I think, having heard what I have about it. The less I can do off-paper, the better. I see you got to do two IT courses with your VCE. That's awesome!
I'm doing IT: Applications atm, because it's the only one our school offers , and it's crap. It really sucks. Oh well, slightly OT there.

Oh. Is Systems Engineering different from IT: Systems?
Sorry. Still, software dev. beats apps any day.

Systems Engineering is what used to be electronics engineering (i think thats what it was).
The 'stupid peoples' changed it to systems because it now focuses on electronic/mechanical "systems" rather than electronics <i>and</i> electro-mechanics....

Software dev is definitely better...only i wish i had time to keep going, basic html is all i get to do these days
