was more difficult than last years
HSC 2018
DEFINITELY more difficult that previous years!!!

HSC 2018:
ATAR aim: 95+(Achieved)
Yeah. Was a fairly brutal paper.
that was hardddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
what would the raw for 97 be?
How was the last question?????
Definitely harder and more conceptual than previous years. Alignment should (hopefully) allow me to scrape an e4 with like 65-70% raw lmao
HSC 2018
English Adv - MX1 - MX2 - Physics - Economics
Well I’m kind of worried now because I didnt even get the last part of q15 and probably lost at least eight marks in q16. Definitely not getting 90 raw but I hope my mark can be somewhat close to my trials at least...
asghgasdkhsfkhafshgjafk never studying the night before for x2 again. but that's not a problem anyway bc it's all done!!!!
the difficulty was expected, but tbh it was kinda the same as our trials. attempted many questions but did not finish them lol
B of Science/Laws @ USyd
Does anyone know when Terry Lee or someone else will cave the solutions out by and where I could find them?

it was pretty difficult but as my MX2 teacher says you could of still "nut out" a couple marks in those last 2 questions, estimate 60s thou.
did anyone get the ratio on the triangle question in Q16??
I was getting somewhere but nope didn't manage to
UNSW:
B.Advanced Science(Hons.Physics)/B.Science(Computer Science)
HSC 2018:
ATAR aim: 95+(Achieved)
I think I would have gotten it if I didnt start with the wrong ratio.
What's everyone expecting as a raw cutoff for e4?
UNSW:

HSC 2018:
ATAR aim: 95+(Achieved)
i tried it for about 5 minutes then skipped it
imo it was way worse than previous papers. so much abstract harder 3 unit. barely any mechanics. 6% of test was mechanics wtf. some pretty bs conics questions. and last 2 questions were fucked.
Anyone have the solutions to the last two questions of Q16 and the last question of Q15??
Thought it was more 'proofs' and less 'numbered answers', so definitely more conceptual, which I liked.
Not sure if I got the ratio for the triangle, but ended with (1/2)^1/3.
Definitely harder than last years. Hoping for raw mark of about 92...Found multiple choice pretty hard...defs lost marks from there. Second last part of the last question (3 marker), I struggled with.
But overall, not too upset, cuz I answered every question and think I gave valid proofs. Hopefully I didn't lose too many marks to silly mistakes, since I didn't have much time at the end...

i think i solved part of the poly question, ii and iii. I lost marks in all segments thou. i couldn't solve i) but ii) u use the substitution (B-Y)^2=a^2+bla/a, in which case x=a^2+bla/a; times by a and sub a^3 into what u would get if u sub a into the original polynomial (0=a^3+pa+q or something) then manipulate. after that it is possible to make a the subject, then sub into P(x) then take sum of roots, i made a mistake and although i got an answer it was different. iii) just say if A=B where A and B are arbitrary roots then the LHS of part ii) becomes 0, also the LHS is allays greater or equal to 0, so condition for distinct roots is the RHS being greater then 0.
last question in 15 was the inequality? I took different cases, that was x>=1, x<=1 (yes repeated = twice but doesn't matter), with x less then 1 you don't have to do much
but with x greater then one u use the other expansion provided in previous part and prove using induction that sigma(k=0, n-1)x^k>=n; where x>=1 so the LHS remains positive.
Overall by taking these two cases i proved it to be true
but no marks on circle geo.
