Tony Abbott is the most unpopular and most incompetent Opposition leader according to Newspoll. Tony Abbott has no new policies for Australia. He has no idea how to stop the flood of asylum seekers. He has no idea how to fund the National Disability Insurance Scheme. He has no idea how to keep the Australian economy strong. Tony Abbott is not up to the job regarding national security. Tony Abbott has his head stuck in the sand regarding climate change. Tony Abbott has extremist neo liberal policies regarding Industrial Relations such as bringing back elements of Work Choices i.e. getting rid of unfair dismissal laws and bringing back idividual workplace agreements to cut pay and conditions. Tony Abbott wants to cut pensions and give a big tax cut to millionaires and let middle class Australians suffer.

I don't think abbott has ever said he would do any of those things. Most of your post is too non-specific to dispute, but I don't think any of these particular claims are true. I am 100% sure he would never say he wants to reduce the aged or disability pension.

RE: Graney. In politics you must read between the lines. Abbott wants a "smaller government" and Joe Hockey said that the welfare system was "unsustainable when compared to our Asian neighbours." As manifested by Greens Deputy Leader extrapolated "Tony Abbott wants a dog eat dog world." i.e. cuts to the welfare system. Julia Gillard went further "what Mr Abbott is advocating is massive cuts to supports of struggling Australian families". Furthermore Tony Abbott said that "Work Choices was the workers best friend."

So you're saying that a Liberal government wants to reallocate welfare spending from the poor to prop up the corporate sector/wealthy with the ultimate aim of boosting investment.

So much blatant lies being spread. Time for me to clear it up.
1. Smaller government - Of course the Liberals want a smaller government because what Labor's trying to do is breed more fat cat bureaucrats that do nothing all day. You got these fat cat bureacrats buying gold plated coffee machines at $15,000 each and i suppose that improves productivity and delivers more policies for the australian people? The Department for Climate Change for example has an average salary of 140k with SES average pay level of 150k. One farce that i found particularly funny was that government bureaucrats sold two billiard tables for $6000 then subsequently spent 100k to find out whether it was value for money.
2. Yes our welfare system is unsustainable and that is a fact because many people under 30 are relying on government handouts when unskilled work is readily available. This isnt about cuts to welfare but a more rigorous work for the dole program which empowers people to work instead of relying on the government. The pie can only be that big and money should be handed out to the most needy namely the ageing population.
3. The Greens have no economic credentials whatsoever if you look carefully at their policy manifesto they dont believe in the credit lending system and economic growth. So we can go back to 1788 and have no buildings around us. They dont seem to understand that captalism is what built our country and that we dont have a bottomless pit of money to satisfy their fantasies.
4. You cant trust a word Julia Gilliard says. Want to explore her broken promises? northwest rail link , citizen assembly , timor solution carbon tax , pokies , surplus ( which the liberals said they would never achieve) , cash for clunkers. And the list goes on. There goes the integrity of the Prime Minister.
5. Workchoices as Tony Abbott said is dead , buried and cremated. Tony Abbott wont be as stupid to face massive electoral backlash in getting Workchoices back. The whole of the Liberal Party acknowledges that Workchoices went too far the other way but that doesnt justify the Fair Work Act rolling back IR reform all the way before Keating. An example of the current environment of IR in australia is Qantas. How the hell can Qantas baggage handlers have a salary between $70,000-$85,000 that is higher than the salary of the highest classified teachers before the position of head teacher. It doesnt take a genius to figure out which one requires more skill.
I fear for the future of our country with people like you spreading blatant lies with no sources whatsoever.

If you thought factional splits and infighting were limited to the senior factions of Labor Party, now you know better.
The Sydney University Branch of National Labor Students (NLS) has voted to break relations from its parent organisation and disaffiliate from the NLS national network.
The Sydney caucus passed the vote unanimously, with one member abstaining and one other walking out. The newly independent Sydney Branch will now be known as Sydney Labor Students (SLS).

The move technically brings an end to NLS’ 13 year rule of the Sydney University Students Representative Council (SRC) as SRC President David Pink is now a member of SLS.
NLS is the student wing of Young Labor Left, the socialist and social democratic youth faction of the ALP. They are the faction associated with politicians like Anthony Albanese and Tanya Plibersek. NLS was, arguably, the most powerful faction on campus, and undeniably the most powerful faction nationwide through the National Union of Students (NUS), controlling the presidency since 1987, its inaugural year.
Honi Soit has been given an exclusive and extraordinary list of grievances by SLS detailing their reasons for splitting from NLS. They include:
- The absence of meaningful preselection processes: almost every position would be appointed unopposed due to previous backdoor deals.
- A member of USYD NLS, Max Kiefel, winning preselection for the position of New South Wales NUS President, only to have his nomination forms ‘lost’ then his position dealt away.
- The admonishment of a USYD member for claiming “the Holocaust was the greatest tragedy of all time.”
- The refusal of the National Caucus to speak out against forced female genital mutilation, due to cultural relativism.
- A prominent member of the caucus, now a National Office Bearer, who believes in ‘headmates’ – other identities that occupy your body, and can claim different ethnicities or sexualities, thus allowing you to join an autonomous caucus (for instance queer or women’s) you were not otherwise entitled to join.
- A prominent member denouncing “logic,” “rationality,” and economics as tools used by males to subjugate women.
- A debate in National Caucus about dating preferences: some members stated that racial dating preferences is entirely racist, another criticised those who dated based on attractiveness, and one person even stated that dating based on the sex of the other is discriminatory.
- The judgment that the term ‘cut’ – as in, ‘cut me from the speaking list’ – was a word likely to trigger traumatic flashbacks and could not be used at all.
What the emergence of SLS means for the campus is unclear at this point. The group has indicated it will be taking a more activist approach and will work closely with the Grassroots Left.
Interestingly, a small caucus of NLS loyalists at Sydney University have refused to split from the National Caucus. What this will entail in terms of elections is ambiguous, but sources indicate that high-ranking senior Left members have given support to NLS as opposed to SLS. NLS has so far given no comment on this issue. This will certainly complicate the Labor Left-Labor Right dominance on campus – watch this space for updates on the situation.
