    solutions

Hmm just typed it up just then - probably some incorrect answers as I haven't checked my solutions yet - and I can't be bothered.

Sorry, just realised that the rapidshare link had a restriction of 10 downloads. Here's a new one:

    Re: solutions

a couple mistakes (from the first link):

in question 3. d), you have an x2, but it should just be an x, so the integral there is incorrect

Q 7 a) ii) is great! you just need to add the 2 metres of the person's height, which then gives 124.68 (still under 125)

    everything else seems fine

    Re: solutions

Just a few mistakes I noticed at a quick glance:

Q2d) the circle has radius 2, not 1
Q3a iii) I'm pretty sure the x-intercepts are at x=0,2,-2

    But really nice stuff
I especially like how easy you made Q7 ii) seem. Damn that one was impossible in my eyes hehe

    Re: solutions

and also, for Q2 (i) the answer is to be in the form a+ib so it should be 0+1i not just i.

furthermore, for Q6(a) volumes, isnt the height of the rectangular cross-section (4-x) not y, because h/(4-x) = tan(45) = 1 so the integral is wrong.

    They wouldn't care tbh.

    Re: solutions

    i is in a+ib form. It's just that a=0 and b=1.

    Yeah it should be y^2

    Re: solutions

    Well spotted, everyone.

Bah, silly mistakes everywhere. But that saved me a lot of trouble, so thanks.

I'd have to agree with NitroBoon though - had I read the question more carefully, I wouldn't have taken the risk (of them possibly caring) and just write 0+i.
